| making tail lights for vehicles with reflectors a long time ago. Some newer vehicles with LED tail lights dont even have red bulbs. Its clear, and lights up red. My somewhat girlfriend's bestfriend's husband is a cop here. I've asked him this specific question just because I remember someone else telling me that I need the reflector. His first response was, "reflector? What reflector? Like on a bicycle?" -___- (Yeah, not the brightest crayon in the box is he?) After explaining to him with a color by numbers book what reflector I was pertaining to, he said ... "Oh...well..why would it be illegal not to have that little stupid red piece? Don't your tail lights light up red ?"

To make a long painful story, longer and more painful...
He researched, or probably just asked someone more intelligent than he, and confirmed with me that not only is it not illegal, but he doesn't think any cop would notice that it's missing a relfector anyway. "Most cops aren't that smart" He said, and then laughed.. Love that guy. So, I'll take my chances with the Mensa minded popo in my hood. I'll high 5 the one that gives me a ticket for "missing reflector on taillight" =)
